Cortical and subcortical localization of response to pain in man using positron emission tomography is a scientific article with a study on pain using positron emission tomography.
[edit] Results
Result from data analysis is reported in text and shown in Figures 1 and 2, but no exact coordinates are reported other than the z coordinate for the activated slices
- Left thalamus, z=4–8 mm
- Left cingulate cortex, Brodmann area 24, z=36–40 mm
- Right lentiform nucleus (putamen and globus pallidus)
It may be possible to read off the x and y coordinates from the Figures 1 and 2.
In Swedish-Taiwanese paper the cingulate activation is reported to be (-8,-12, 40).[1]
In the original BrainMap database the coordinates seems to be given as (-1, -1, 28), (-12, -10, 1) and (-30, 2, 1), i.e., with a other coordinate than the Swedish-Taiwanese study.
