"Goldfield syndrome" was originally a fictional syndrome with anterograde amnesia where memory for the events of the day were normal but where overnight memories were lost. It originates in the fictional film 50 First Dates.
In 2010 (real) researchers, in Losing memories overnight: a unique form of human amnesia, described a (real) women with the syndrome. Her amnesia might have been influenced by the film.
"Goldfield syndrome" is not an established name.
