Hidehiko Takahashi is a neuroimaging researcher, MD and PhD affiliated with the National Institute of Radiological Sciences in Japan. There he is senior researcher in the Clinical Neuroimaging Team in the Department of Molecular Neuroimaging and leader of the project "Molecular mechanism of emotional decision-making".

His 2009 study on schadenfreude reached mainstream media.[1]
