Neuroanatomical correlates of externally and internally generated human emotion reports a positron emission tomography study with human subjects watching emotional film.
In addition to three emotionally neutral films three silent color feature film with happiness, sadness and disgust were shown just before and during the PET scan. These film were related to films from Resting frontal brain asymmetry predicts affective responses to films.
|Subject group #1 (help)|
|Subjects/♂/♀:||12 / 0 / 12|
|Age:||23.3 ±3.2 (–)|
Group 1 of 12 right-handed healthy females with 0 males and 12 females were included in the study. The group had a mean age of 23.3.
A screening procedure was setup to get unmedicated female subjects likely responding intensely to the emotional stimuli. The subjects score above average on the Vividness of Visual Imagery Questionnaire and had average score on the Affect Intensity Measure.
One subject (of original 13 subjects) had withdrawn from the PET study.

The PET image was transformed to the 1988 Talairach atlas. A threshold on P=0.005 uncorrected was used corresponding to z=2.58. If an area in the opposite hemisphere were significant then the threshold was lowered to P=0.05 uncorrected corresponding z=1.65.
