CYP2C19 polymorphism affects personality traits of Japanese females reports a personality genetics study on the CYP2C19 gene and personality traits assessed with the Temperament and Character Inventory.

The largest associations are found among females: for cooperativeness, reward dependence and self-transcendence. These traits are not the same as the strongest associations in the study Association between cytochrome P450 (CYP) 2C19 polymorphisms and harm avoidance in Japanese.

Group 1 of 487 healthy Japanese hospital staff and students with 244 males and 243 females were included in the study. The Japanese group had a mean age of 29.6. The study on the human subjects was approved by the Ethics Committee of Yamagata University School of Medicine.
