Where does your own action influence your perception of another person's action in the brain? reports a functional magnetic resonance imaging experiment where human subject watched a movie with actors lifting a box.

The experiment was a 2-by-2-by-3 factorial design with factors

  1. Animacy, either "hand" or "box"
  2. Task, either judge weight of box or count flickers

Group 1 of 17 right-handed subjects were included in the study. The group was from 18 up to 35 years old.

Originally 19 subjects were scanned, but two did not went into the analysis due to excessive head movement, leaving 17 subjects

The brain scans were analyzed with SPM99 and "normalized to a standardized stereotaxic space" with the coordinates reported in MNI space (see table column headers).
