XBP1 gene polymorphism (-116C/G) and personality reports a personality genetics study on the XBP1 gene C-116G genetic polymorphism and personality traits assessed with NEO PI-R.

The study finds the strongest association with agreeableness (G/G highest) and neuroticism (G/G lowest). Another personality genetics study, Relationship between XBP1 genotype and personality traits assessed by TCI and NEO-FFI, also examined XBP1. The agreeableness association is not supported in that study.
